If they gave too much attention to these characters, it would have derailed the original point and been overtaken by their love story, which would have been especially problematic since their characters were completely fictional, whereas the others were real or at least based on real characters. But they were a beautiful couple, and I would LOVE if Zendaya and Zac Effron pulled a Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone and just kept getting cast as love interests in a bunch of different movies, because I think they do have a phenomenal onscreen connection.
